The original artwork is spray-painted freehand on canvas and was created in 2014 as part of the ‘London Calling 2014’ exhibition curated by Robin Ross at the Graffik Gallery (London) for the Ray Lowry Foundation.
The colours used in the background are a nod to The Clash's iconic album cover 'London Calling’ which was created by Ray Lowry.

About the Artist: Akse is a street artist based in Manchester and he has been painting murals since 1992. Akse started as a graffiti artist in the early 90s and naturally developed over the last 15 years as a street artist with an emphasis on photorealistic portraiture. His most known portraits include David Bowie, Heisenberg, Tony Wilson, George Floyd, Ian Curtis - all painted in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
